What we do

More like what we used to do...
Icon-1

Mums and Dads

We run a scheme each year which pairs up higher year students with freshers. Helping first years to settle down at university guide you through your first year in the department.

Bar Nights

No college experience would be complete without a night spent socialising whilst also sharpening your sporting abilities. Last year EESoc organized an event at the Puttshack White City, a venue that offers drinks, food AND mini-golf

EESoc Dinner

Every year, EESoc organizes a glamorous black-tie dinner party — a great opportunity for you to mingle with both professors and fellow students while enjoying a formal 3-course meal at a lavish venue.

Careers Fair

Our Careers Fair is attended by over 25 firms from the banking, consulting and engineering industries last year. It's the perfect platform for the top engineering and technology companies to meet the best technical engineers in the UK in an intimate environment.

Industry Talks

EESoc runs careers talks throughout the year. Such talks are typically held in the department during lunchtime. We invite guest companies, many of whom are sponsors, to give tailored presentations to you, our members.

Hackathons

In the past, we've worked with companies like Microsoft to run hackathons. This was an event where students competed to create the most effective algorithm to solve a range of problems, but more importantly lets us pretend that we're Computing students for a little while.

Read our fresher's handbook!

Although a couple of years old now, our fresher's handbook is a good way to get familiar with what goes on and what we're about here.
Read it here!

Coronavirus at Imperial

2020-21 is looking to be a unique year for students at universities all around the world. At Imperial, it is likely that you will have most classes online.
In general:

  1. You should only be on campus if you have a valid reason.
    Read here for more
  2. You should be wearing a face covering most of the time.
Exemptions apply. Read here for more

Any other questions you may have are probably answered on the offical student guidance page!
Make sure to also download the NHS COVID-19 app to help keep each other safe.

Coronavirus at EESoc

Unfortunately, due to government regulations, the chances of us being able to host in-person events is looking very slim.
Nevertheless, we are working hard to make the most of it and provide an enjoyable student experience - giving you ample opportunity to socialise with other classmates in a range of online events
and hey.. that's basically as good as the real thing
:'(

About us

We boast a broad range of events— with socials, events with industry, sports fixtures, and more, we have it all covered. We hold our own Careers Fair, and we (used to) start the term in style with our New Years Dinner. With an unparalled range of activities, there is something for everyone. This year we'll be working hard to create a standout society and minimise the impact of coronavirus on social opportunities.
