We run a scheme each year which pairs up higher year students with freshers. Helping you (freshers) to settle down at university guide you through your first year in the department.
No college experience would be complete without a night spent tuning your bowling skills. Last year EESoc organized an event at the Kingpin Suite, a venue that offers drinks, arcade games, karaoke and yes you guessed it, five bowling lanes.
Every year, EESoc organizes a glamorous black-tie dinner party — a great opportunity for you to mingle with both professors and fellow students while enjoying a formal 3-course meal at a lavish venue.
Our Careers Fair was attended by over 25 firms from the banking, consulting and engineering industries last year. Its the perfect platform for the top engineering and technology companies to meet the best technical engineers in the UK in an intimate environment.
EESoc runs careers talks throughout the year. Such talks are typically held in the department during lunchtime. We invite guest companies, many of whom are sponsors, to give tailored presentation to you, our members.
Last year, we worked with Microsoft to run a ‘hackathon’. This was an event where students pitted their wits against each other to create the most effective algorithm to solve an array of classical problems.

Committed to improving your university experience
Hey all! I'm Becca, a final year EEE student, and lucky enough to have the honour to be your EESoc president for this year.
My 3 years at uni so far have taught me that university can be tough, but also that it's not just about getting an amazing degree and a (well paid) graduate job. It’s about life experiences, having fun and making great life-long friends. EESoc works hard to provide this, and my role as president is to oversee the amazing committee that is working tirelessly behind the scene. We host a variety of events, from extravagent black tie dinners and lively bar nights, invaluable careers fairs and industry talks, to international trips! Lots of exciting new things coming your way this year too...
My email is below so feel free to drop me a line, whether it's just for a chat, to let me know about an opportunity, or to offer some feedback!
I can't wait for this year, I hope you're just as excited :)
EE love x
Working to attract new sponsors & diversify our engagement
Hi everyone! I’m Vaikkun, a final year EEE student and I am your Vice President (Industry) for the year. My objective is attracting new sponsors to our society and diversify our engagement with them through newly incentivized events. With the aim of increasing our sponsorship, we should be in a position to put on freat events! I aim to aid our members in choosing which industry suits them the best for future aspirations. Through a broader range of companies, I hope to provide our society an even better relationship with our external partners for the future!
This coming year expect to gain a great amount of company exposure through a variety of events that will inspire you to ignite your career path!
Bringing you the best events ever
Hi! I’m Kunal, 3rd year EIE and your VP events this year. I lead the events team and our job is simple: make sure you have a good time.
It’s easy to get bogged down by the workload and stress that comes with studying in this department. We’re here to make sure that you take away more from this year than just coursework, formulae and emails about malfunctioning toilets.
We’ve got a lot planned for you - you’ll get to meet new people both within and outside the department, and make memories that you can look back fondly on. Here’s to a great year!
Find me at any EESoc event and let me know what you think of it!
Ensuring we have the money for all the amazing ideas EESoc has planned for this year :))
I’m Karina, a second year EEE student and I am your treasurer this year!!
My main role as treasurer is to manage our finances such as sponsorship income along with monitoring our expenses to ensure we have enough money for all the events we plan throughout the year. As treasurer, my main aim for this year is to continue the amazing work done previously in working together with the union and EESoc members to ensure events next year are even bigger and exciting than before!
Some of my favourite memories from my first year have been from EESoc events and I would definitely encourage everyone to come to as many of them as possible!! We also have industrial talks and career fairs throughout the year that are a great opportunity to interact with companies and network!
EESoc has a lot of amazing ideas planned out for this year - I hope you’re as excited for them as I am !
Ensuring smooth functioning of the Society
Hey guys, I am Snehil Kumar, the Secretary of EESoc. I am currently pursuing third year EEE and am eagerly looking forward to my remaining years in Imperial.
As the Secretary, I will be responsible to maintain communication and cooperation among the commitee and members. I will ensure active participation in societal development and process important decisions in the society. It will be my duty to keep a track of all the actions and meetings and keep the society updated with upcoming events, activities and meeting outcomes.
EESoc has done tremendous work over the years and I wish to steer the ship to make sure it continues on the path. Looking forward to great experiences this year!
Ambassador for the women of the dept
Hi! I’m Nidhi, a 3rd year EIE student and I have the great pleasure of being your President of Women in EE this year.
Coming from an all-girls school background, it was kind of a shock for me when I first moved to Imperial; it was weird to suddenly sit in a room where I was in the minority. I am extremely passionate about the goal of this society, to empower women in engineering, and provide a sense of community for everyone.
With many big plans for this coming year, including our first year being a properly registered society within the Union, bigger and better socials that everyone is invited to, and industry workshops, I hope you are as excited about what this year holds as I am!
Looking forward to meeting you all :)
Bringing you the best companies
Hi! I am Raj and I am a 3rd year EEE student. I will be working with Raphael and Vaikkun to arrange sponsorship and organize industry events for the society. Keep an eye out for the newsletters and our facebook page to stay updated on industry events. Have any questions or general feedback? Get in touch with us at [email protected]
I'm Raphael, a second year EIE student and one of your Industrial Liaison officers for the 2019-20 academic year. My role involves reaching out and maintaining contact with firms interested in partnering with EESoc. I aim to help increase our sponsorship for the upcoming academic year, and I hope to increase our exposure as students to a wider variety of companies & networking opportunities.
I'll be working closely with the Industrial Liaison team, our sponsors, and most importantly you- the member of EESoc!
Looking forward to what's in store this year... and hope I can help you launch your career in the best direction possible :)
Organising all those E(E)vents!
Hey! I’m Priya, a second year EEE student and one of your Events Officers this year.
My role is to help organise all the events, from the pub crawls and movie nights, to the more formal events like the New Year’s Dinner. These events are a chance for us to leave the labs and socialise (yes, socialise!) with other EE students from all years, be it your friends from lectures or your Mums and Dads.
This year we want the events to be as exciting and engaging as ever, so that your EE experience is as memorable as possible – after all, it’s at the events where you create those memories that you’ll reminisce in 5 years.
I can’t wait for the events this year and hopefully you’re as buzzed as I am about them!
Bringing the socials to you
Hi everyone, I’m Isabella, a second year EEE student, and I’m one of your two Events Officers! I help to organise bar nights, events with different departments and all other types of EEsoc Socials.
Studying at imperial can be hard, but why should we let that stop us from having good socials? We can still "work hard, play hard". With our lack of large common rooms, there is a need for events to bring us together and get to know each other outside of labs and lectures.
I myself enjoy socials and love meeting lots of new people. I want to try to improve the number and quality of EEsoc events, to build stronger connections in our department.
So, come along to one of our events and let me know how you find it and if there are any other events you would like to see.
In charge of our social media presence
I’m Arjun, a second-year EEE student, and I’m your Publicity Officer for this year! I'll be promoting all EESoc events. I'll be the one sending out e-mails to you in the form of newsletters and I'll be the one to create and share EESoc Facebook events. I'll be working closely with both the events and industry teams to ensure that all events will reach their maximum audience and can be as lively as possible.
I'm extremely excited to see what EESoc has in-store for this year - I hope you are too.
Hey, I’m Constantinos and I am in 3rd year of EEE. I’ll be the webmaster of EESoc this year.
Basically I am in charge of making sure that our website runs smoothly throughout the year, while also keeping you updated with all the latest content from our department. The site is a great place to find out what is happening in the society, and read the latest news of our department. Don’t miss out!
